CLEAN-UP OF AIRLESS SPRAY EQUIPMENT

Q:       I am going to buy a used Graco 1500 airless system. I will be spraying water based high solids coatings. Can you advise me on the proper cleaning procedures after use and also proper periodic maintenance. I have heard about "pump saver" but I cannot find a description of when and how to use it.

A:            Generally the cleanup of paint equipment that spray applies waterborne paints is done with water. One can also cleanup with water, followed by isopropanol, followed with water.

Because airless spray guns operate under high fluid pressures, you are STRONGLY advised to follow the vendor's directions. Airless equipment can be dangerous if not operated properly! Since you wish to purchase Graco equipment, you might like to visit www.graco.com and then look for the "Search Literature" button. Search for 307827. This will download the literature for the Graco 1500 airless spray equipment.
