DETERMINING VOC FOR UV CURABLE COATINGS Q: For UV/EB curable coating some of the VOC is chemically reacted to a solid. How shall the VOC content be determined? Is there a regulatory adjustment for these UV/EB curable coatings? A: As I understand it the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) does have a method for determining the VOC content of UV curable coatings, and you can find this on their website www.aqmd.gov. Essentially, you first pass the coating under UV lamps before subjecting the sample to EPA Method 24.
