Back to Quality Control Inspections

Q.  What inspection factors would you consider for a concrete building on which paint is peeling?

A.  There are several factors that must be considered when evaluating a coating failure on any surface.  Before you inspect you must first gather all pertinent information such as:

What prep work was performed?  How was the coating applied i.e. what type of application equipment?  What is the dry film thickness (DFT)?   Does it meet the manufacturers specifications?  What type of coating was applied?

These are only a few of several more questions that should be addressed when trying to determine the cause of a paint failure.

We do perform field service inspections, and can further assist you in determining the cause of the paint failure by performing an on site inspection.   Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in pursuing this project and would like our assistance.
