Intumescent Paint for Aircraft

Q:  I'm searching for a supplier of an intumescent paint suggested to be used on our aircraft.  I have been given 2 order #'s, but I am having no luck finding a supplier in the US.  I am also not finding a comparable order #, mill or alternate # for this product: Copon LS3000 or 477 / Fire Research Lab of Albuquerque

A:  I would start with a search of paint and coating manufacturers who supply the aircraft industries, particularly the military community.  There is a trend initiated by the DOD to use commercial products rather than military specifications.
